Reinita
Mexicana

A year-round cultural leadership program across five age divisions, from 4-year-old Reinitas to 29-year-old Ms. Reinas. Mexican heritage, traditional dress, community service. Not a beauty pageant. A commitment.

Reinas represent MHAWM at community events, parades, fundraisers, and school visits throughout the year. They build public speaking skills, deepen their cultural knowledge, and become peer role models.

4–9
Reinita MexicanaYoungest division. Family-heavy participation.
10–14
Jr. Reina MexicanaMiddle school. First solo speaking appearances.
15–18
Reina MexicanaHigh school. Full spokesperson role.
19–23
Miss Reina MexicanaCollege-age. Year-round ambassador work.

Ms. Reina MexicanaAdult division. Professional and community leadership.

What every contestant brings

  • Mexican descent. Proud to represent your heritage.
  • Traditional Mexican dress for the cultural segment.
  • Evening gown for the formal wear segment.
  • $100 entrance fee at registration.
  • Age-appropriate makeup. Natural, division-appropriate.
  • Stage presence. Comfortable engaging with the audience.
  • Panel Q&A. Be ready to answer the judges' questions.
  • Mandatory orientation a few weeks before the pageant.
  • 3 volunteer hours at the festival. You pick the shift.

The 2026 court will be announced after this year's pageant. Court members make community appearances throughout the year, from school visits to the Grito stage.

We bring cultural programming into Kent County schools when invited: music, dance, history, and Mexican traditions, taught by community members.

Cultural workshops

Adult and family workshops across the year: folklórico basics, Día de Muertos ofrenda-building, and traditional cooking classes. Scheduled when interest and volunteers align.

Scholarship fund In development

A scholarship program for Mexican-American high school seniors in Kent County pursuing higher education. Funded by Reina division fundraising year-round. Eligibility, awards, and application timeline are being finalized for 2026.
